Custom Programming: I offer complete application development support.  I can help take your idea and turn it into a reality.  With over 20 years of experience in systems design, I can work with you to produce a program that does what you want it to and works the way you want it to.  It is my firm belief that tools like these should not make you work to use them, they should work for you.  If you reviewed my portfolio then you know the broad range of applications I've built.  With the exception of the C.L. Frates products, all others were taken from concept through design, into coding and testing and finally to system integration by me alone.  As a skilled technical writer I can also provide documentation in the form of User's Guides and Programming Manuals.  The user's guide I prepared for the SWBell ESP system was used as the basis for their formal training course that was developed to support its introduction.  It is not necessary that I understand your job to begin work on a product for you - we will take your knowledge and turn it into a work saving tool.  I've worked with real-time, life-critical radar systems software and other scientific applications, and in several widely separate business fields.  Distance is not the factor you may think it is - most projects I've done have been coordinated long distance via phone calls and email!

Supported Platforms:  I can provide support for systems using Microsoft Windows 95, 98, 98SE, XP and 2000.  I can build applications in Visual Basic 6.0 or any of the Microsoft Office versions from Office 97, Office 2000 and Office XP.  If you don't have the specific Microsoft Office tools needed, I am licensed by Microsoft to distribute the needed pieces of the puzzle so that we can put the solution you need on your computer for programs developed in Visual Basic or Microsoft Access.

Adobe Acrobat Document Preparation: If you need to have your documentation made available in the almost universal .PDF (Adobe Acrobat) format but do not have the tools to do that, contact me.  I can take your Word (.doc), text (.txt) or Rich Text File (.rtf) file format and turn it into an Adobe Acrobat readable document at very reasonable rates.  Most people don't find it economical to spend $250 on a software package such as Adobe Acrobat for a one-time file conversion.  I already have the tool, you have the document - let's get together and solve your problem!

 Network Support: Do you need help planning your small business network?  All too often small businesses cannot afford, and really don't have a need for, a dedicated Information Systems department.  Just as often they don't have anyone on staff with the expertise needed to setup or maintain and tune a small network.  I can help you here.  I have the contacts needed to get everything installed and set up and running and keep it running.  If I can't do it myself, I can tell you who can.  I specialize in networks built on various versions of the Windows operating system, and can probably show you how to get networked at minimum cost with minimum headache.
If you need new computers, I can put you in contact with people that will build custom systems designed to exactly meet your needs, usually at prices below off the shelf systems that may either fall short of your requirements or be overpowered for them at your expen$e.  I can even build you a true power system myself when your needs are very specific and beyond what the average 'custom system' shop is able to handle.  In the past 6 years I have built over 20 systems for myself and my customers.  I'm not in the computer building business, but sometimes you just have to step out of the mainstream to get a real power house at a reasonable cost.  I can almost guarantee I can build you a system that will outperform most in its category for hundreds less than you'll buy a similar system from one of the big names.

Broadband Internet Optimization:  If you use a broadband service (cable, satellite or xDSL) for your internet connection, I can quite possibly help you dramatically increase your download speeds, making more use out of both your time and your connection.  Typically Microsoft Windows based systems are not set up to take full advantage of these types of connections.  There are changes that can be made to the system that can dramatically improve performance on an unmodified system.  To get my foot in your door and let us meet, I'm willing to try to help you get more performance for the nominal cost of $50.00 - that service would be applied to a single system in your organization.  I will show you how to do it, leave you the tool to do it on your own to all of your other systems (the tool is a computer program).  If you are uncomfortable about doing it yourself, while I'm on site, I will do any other systems you want optimized at $25.00 each.  During the visit we can discuss your security and data backup strategies at no extra cost while we're doing the optimization.
The process is completely legal, does not void any warranties and does not go against any type of restrictions that may have been placed on you by your internet service provider, your computer manufacturer or Microsoft.  Sorry - but the service is available only on systems using a version of the Microsoft Windows operating system.
The fine print:  The condition of your connection may not permit these changes to have any effect.  We can determine that in about 5 or 10 minutes, and if I feel that no improvement is going to be made, I'll leave and you won't owe me anything but a hand shake and a "thanks for dropping by".  I'm so sure it will work that I'm willing to take that risk.  I have literally helped hundreds of people improve the speed of their connection and the number of failures is virtually zero.  I am a CoxHSI customer and using this technique on my own connection resulted in increasing my download speed from about 1.5million bits/second to over 2million bits/second on average.  But like the car makers say: your mileage may vary.
